The Spanish city Barcelona offers many Christmas light displays throughout the whole city. This will give you and your family the ultimate Christmas feeling. But you can make your holidays complete by participating in the Spanish tradition by eating twelve grapes during New Year’s Eve.

Must See

With beautiful old buildings, narrow streets and numerous plazas, Barcelona is a wonderful backdrop for Christmas light displays. If you head to Plaza de Catalunya and the surrounding areas you will see some of Barcelona’s most impressive light attractions. The Corte Inglés Department Store in the square is well-known for making an effort with its decorations on the store. La Rambla street has lights through the whole street. The last must-see is the multi colored fountain on Passeig de Gracia which will give you the total Christmas feeling.

Must Experience

The Twelve Grapes is a Spanish tradition where you need to eat one grape at every bell strike at midnight of the 31st of December. Every grape stands for each month of the next year which will give you prosperity in your life. When you are in Barcelona you are able to try this event with your family and friends.

After this tradition it’s time to go to one of the great parties that Barcelona has to offer. For example the Razzmatazz Club proves to be a first class choice for New Year’s Eve. With five rooms playing all different genres of music, there really is something for everybody. Another party is on top of the W Hotel where you will find the stylish and spacious Eclipse Bar. This cocktail bar offers a great view over Barcelona and the sea while drinking your favorite cocktail.
