It almost seems like you're in the Sahara, but Huacachina is truly in Peru. This small village is located in an oasis in the desert and is a popular attraction for tourists. This is understandable, as it's a super cool place where you can go sandboarding and cross around with a dune buggy.

Must See
Huacachina is a few kilometers from the city of Ica in southwestern Peru. This oasis village is built around a natural lake in the desert, which was created by mirror shards according the legend. A princes walked through the desert and looked into a mirror to admire herself.  But when she saw a man behind her she dropped the mirror and fled. The folds of her cloak would have created the dunes and the lakes presents the fragments of the mirror. The village is really a fairy tale to see and a wonderful place to relax.

Must Experience
The sand dunes surrounding the oasis are hundreds meters high and so it is quite a climb to get to the top. Once you are above it is time to go sandboarding . This is basically the same thing as snowboarding, but on sand. Tired of walking? Then you race upwards with a dune buggy. This is a sort of quad which can easily drive through the sand. Once you’re done with al the sand, you can go relaxing at the lake with a nice drink in your hand.
